Hello, I simulated in Abaqus/explict a clinching process in an axis symmetric model. Now I would like to conduct a tensile shear process where I can only apply one symmetry. Transferring the deformed mesh into a new model and rotating it would drop the material's stress state.
As far as I understood, such a transferal is possible with *symmetric model generation and *symmetric results transfer only within Abaqus/standard. I already tried to transfer my results from Abaqus/explict to Abaqus/standard via initial state and applied *symmetric model generation. Here, however, I have the problem, that the *symmetric model generation feature is not available for models defined in terms of an assembly of part instances. But, when applying the initial state, I definitily need to assign the stress state to an instance.
How would you solve this problem?

it is an interesting question you have here although I don't have a perfect solution to it. Is there any chance that the clinching process could be simplified by using quasi-static assumptions to allow the entire procedure to be implemented solely in the Abaqus/Standard solver? Although this approach will require the extra work of using an external package like Hypermesh [Hyperworks] to export-remesh-import the partially deformed model. Also, if the deformation rate in the actual time scale is too important, this proposed approach might be flawed. Transferring a model from an Explicit to Standard solver (or vice versa) is often error-prone. I hope to learn how this challenge is eventually resolved.
