A sample obviously contains zircon (meta-gabbro, RFA analysis = 240 ppm zirconium). But I can not find any typical zircon grains. How do gabbro zircons look like and generally is there a trick how to identify and separate awkward zircon grains? They might be like dirty snowballs or just broken pieces without prisms and pyramids... I have a lot of material after NaPT liquid and FRANTZ separation and all grains which I suspected to might be a zircon turned to be feldspar... Do you have any experience or ideas? I already separated a lot of samples but this seem to be a real challenge!
