Hi, i m using Agilent HPLC and i m facing a troubleshooting with degasser, the led turns red when i m increasing the flow from 1 to 3 and finally to 5mL/min. Also, when the led is green, i see bubbles after passing from degasser section. There no bubbles from mobile phase solution till degasser, afterwards appear.

In my experience, the bubbles after the degasser is probably a bad connection with the piping between the degasser and the pump. As for the LED to turn red, it is normally a failure of the degasser to reach the necessary vacuum to degas, that is, there is an internal leak in the equipment, therefore requiring maintenance. If you use Agilent 1100 Series, you have big chambers inside degasser with big flat membranes on both sides. Sometimes, the membrain get broken, in this case you can see error.
If it is your situation, I recommend to do who steps for solution. First - find and exlude broken membrain (screw the input and output plugs in to stop a leak). This will help you to use your instrument before repair. Second - order new membrane and make repair.
Please ensure all 4 channels have liquids in them. If you are only using two for your mobile phase, you can put two channels in series or fill the rest two with 50% ACN. If you have dried channels they will introduce too much gas to the vacuum chamber that overwhelms the vacuum pump. Also since the degasser uses a diaphragm pump, there is limited service life, and eventually the diaphragm do wear out. You will need to repair/replace the pump at some point.
Your vacuum degasser is most likely broken (esp if it is more than 5-years old). It is now contaminating the flow path of your HPLC system (so should be disconnected from the HPLC system). Have the degasser module professionally repaired or replaced with a new one. Never "plug" a suspect chamber as this will not solve any problems as all channels are part of the same vacuum path so you will just do more damage. BTW: It would be useful to know which model of degasser you have. The 1100-series had three very different models available, all different in function, operation and with different types of vacuum chambers (e.g, G1322A, G1379A, G1379B), but having this information will not change the advice.
