I am passing 0.5 ul of toluene at 100 ml flow rate and 80 degrees, through ceramic honeycomb monolith and at room temperature there is no peak observed. When the temperature is raised to 80 degrees we get a broad adsorption peak, further increase in temperature gives a small peak which might be due to desorption as analysed in GC (FID detector). What might be the possible reason for these peaks.
What is it that you want us to explain ?. Taking your question literally; the reason for the peaks is the detector response to toluene.
I suspect that this is not what you want to know, but to to get useful answers you need to provide some details of what you are doing (especially in this case the nature of the ceramic and the dimensions of the honeycomb and what carrier gas you are using). It is not clear whether you are doing an injection at each temperature, or whether you are doing one injection and then heating to different temperatures.
