To determine the antigenesity of a bacterial protein, we clone, express and produce antibodies against that protein. But what can be possible ways to determine the virulence of a bacterial protein?
In order to determine if a protein is involved in virulence, see if knock-outs are still capable of infection to the same degree as wildtype
Purify the fraction of protein and immunize into suckling mice. (invivo studies)
