Hi,

I am analysing some data coming from  genotyping I am  performing on carbapenem- resistant isolates of K.pneumoniae.  The resistance genes should be carried on plasmids and I looked for the presence of those genes by PCR.  I am analysing the data coming from plasmid profile, RAPD-PCR profile and PCR analysis on resistance genes. I notice that I have 2 isolates that have the same RAPD pattern and also the same genotype (at least for the resistance genes I looked for by PCR) , but different plasmid profiles. What could it mean? That ,maybe, some recombination/transposition event happened in the plasmid, thus modifying it in someway?

Thanks
