When I synthesized urchin like ZnO nps they are found to be more soluble in water as compared to spherical ZnO Nps.
Jayoti ZnO is soluble in Acidic and basic medium but insoble in water. Morphology of ZnO nanoparticles has no effect on its solubility in water. Actually small sized ZnO nanoparticles are easily dispersed in water as compared to large particles. But remember as size decreases, the aggrigation process increases and particles settles immediately.
Jayoti, yes morphology is an important factor at which solubility depends,small size Np's dissolve more than larger ones ,even crystalline structure,shape of nanocrystals e plays remarkable effects , spherical shape particles have strong cohesive forces of attractions due to highest surface area to volume ratio ,donot allow particles to dissolve,in others shapes the factors weaker, another factor you need to study the dielectric constant of solvent which is actually a rocket science and must be gripped to understand solubility science.

I got urchin like structure which is supposed to have more surafce area as compared to spherical and that may be the reason for more antibacterial activity.
I will find surface area by BEt and then confirm the result.
