For the fulfillment of my Masters Degree I am conducting a research project with the title: An interpretative phenomenological approach to understanding the cultural values of the UK higher education leadership. This research project aims to investigate and better understand the cultural values of the UK higher education leaders from the established academic staff perspective, looking into how the cultural values influences the leaders while working with and leading people with diverse cultural background, and in what way the culture contributes to leadership.
To participate to this research you should meet the following criteria:
1. Have an academic leadership role in a UK university or college with higher education provision (including but not limited to: Senior Lecturer / Module Leader / Programme Convenor / Programme Coordinator / Programme Leader / Course Manager / Academic Director / Head of Department / Head of School).
2. You identify yourself as being part of a cultural group other than British.

I don't know if you have already registered your Master's dissertation proposal, since it seems too wider and confuse for a degree that nowadays is basically for learning how to research. "Cultural values" is a vague expression, you need to concretize your ideas: do you mean "national", "universal", "local", or "academic" cultural practices? It is rather confuse the perspective of an "interpretative phenomenological approach": what phenomenon are you researching? How do you know that your conceptualization will come out from the phenomenon itself? I suggest you to discuss with your supervisor and to come out with a more modest, but viable, research proposal. A set of good, profound, interviews with HE responsible will be probably much more interesting and useful to inventory their cultural perspectives on education if this is is the goal of your research. Be careful with grand ideas as "in what way the culture contributes to leadership" since "culture" is an intrinsic part of leadership or any other power relation. Culture is a vague term with countless definitions, so one can only define it by stressing what culture is not like "culture is everything that is not immediately biologic" or any similar idea. Thus, while researching you need to put adjectives after culture to specify what are you researching: cultural diversity in HE leadership?
