I'm trying to model a wood-steel connection in shear in ABAQUS CAE, but I'm having some troubles with convergence as the model aborts after running some iterarions. It gives a series of warnings during iterations saying "The plasticity/creep/connector friction algorithm did not converge at 'n' points". Any suggestions to corret this?
I attached the .cae and .inp file.

Can you tell me what factors you are introducing into your problem? I don't use ABAQUS but I think that the theoretical basis for this is probably inaccessible.

Hello, thank you for sending me enough information about the code to research what might be your problem. I have enough information to tell you that this code does not contain the parameters that can solve your problem. The second is that it contains a velocity equation and an energy equation used in the friction rate and state law, but we don't know what microscopic parameters the factors used refer to, or how to measure them. Go back to the latest theoretical developments and check that the values you use are within the range of theoretical values. Hi P. A. Salvattore, bearing in mind the expected severe geometric nonlinearities and large plastic deformations, I would recommend using Abaqus/Explicit (possible .inp file is attached). The present job was terminated because of excessively distorted elements. I'm not sure that such large deformations are actually required.
