if we dope the elements into the spinal/inverse spinal ferrites, will the XRD data shows the doped element?
XRD is structural identification technique.
you can do EDX, XRF etc for compositional analysis.
With XRD you can observate the crystalline structure of the material, You can show if the doped element cause changes in the structure.
Also you can realize different characterization to observe the doping as EDAX (nondestructive technique), RBS, or elemental chemical analysis (destructive technique).
For elemental composition/analysis RBS has always been my preferred option. However EDAX which is coupled with SEM can also be used. XRD will show the the structure structure and also show whether the material is crystalline or amorphous.
If the doped element causes a change in the structure of your parent material by going into interstitial or substitutional solid solution, you can not identify your element by XRD. But if it does not go into or goes partly into solid solution and retains its identity for the rest, it can be detected by XRD, provided the concentration is at least 5% or above.
For estimating the concentration of the doped element irrespective of its state of existence, quickest method is to analyse by i) EDX coupled with SEM or ii) by EPMA. You can also perform iii) XPS analysis which, in addition to concentration, will give information about its chemical state also.
