Journal of Social Entrepreneurship is on the list of ESCIs. Will it be on the SCI /SSCI list in the next two years based on the data indicators in the attached file?
According to the Scopus coverage content (which you can check here https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/19700201531 ) the journal “Journal of Social Entrepreneurship” ‘suffered’ from a rather low content (round 15 papers annually). I think that this is the reason why they (still) are not indexed in Clarivate’s SSCI.
As far as I can see they are indexed in ESCI (only) in the last two years. Indeed, looking at the metrics (CiteScore of 5 etc.) it is likely that this journal will receive their first impact factor (indexed in SCIE) next year or the year after that (my estimate would be impact factor somewhere round 4.0).
Best regards.
PS. As of January 3, 2020. SCI no longer exists; it is integrated in SCIE: https://support.clarivate.com/ScientificandAcademicResearch/s/article/Master-Journal-List-Removal-of-SCI?language=en_US See also: https://www.ilovephd.com/no-more-science-citation-index-sci-why/
PS. As of 2023 journals in ESCI will receive an impact factor as well, see for a good discussion about this: https://scholarlykitchen.sspnet.org/2022/07/26/the-end-of-journal-impact-factor-purgatory-and-numbers-to-the-thousandths/
The field of social entrepreneurship is relatively small. Compared with other fields, it is not a hot topic. There are not many scholars who follow it. Therefore, the citation rate is not dominant, so it is difficult to enter to SSCI or SCI list......
