It is estimated by some Google advanced algorithms that there are currently 129,964,880 books in the entire world. The majority of these books are paper-based.

An electronic book a.k.a. eBook is a book published in digital form, and consists of text and/or images and is readable on computers or other digital platforms. There is no agreed date for the first published eBook, but e-Books started to appear in as early as the 1940s and are getting more acceptance nowadays.
