I am going to organise a workshop cum training programme and i want to know if only SPSS will be more effective or Research Methodology with SPSS will be good
I would recommend you to give more introduction and always linked it to research methodology. For example, what happens in Peru is that people do not call statistics, they call the course "SPSS". So it is important to give some ideas of research methodology not only SPSS in order for people to make the link between research, statistics and an statistical package.
People tend to refer (especially undergraduate students) quantitated research as "SPSS" which is quite a big reduction. So in order to really give a full idea I would give both concepts and even name it Research Methodology with SPSS.
i agree. in my spss courses i also give them an overview of some research methods or let them develop a short questionnaire so that students learn where the data they analyze in spss come from. if you do statistical analyses you need to know something about data collection, the whole research process, scaling/measurement issues etc.
