I've been growing this species in Bold Basal Media, as many papers recommend, with supplemented glucose (10 g/L) under constant 40W light.

For some reason the microalgae is not growing green. I've confirmed growth and lack of contamination under the microscope (where some of the cells are a bit green).

What could be the possible reason for this lack of pigmentation? Could it be the photosynthetic systems decreasing due to the presence of a carbon source other than CO2?
