There is no reason to believe Strict Relativity is valid over large distances.  First, there is no evidence, experimental measurement of anything.

Second, this is not a Fundamental Theory.  There is not intuitive support for covariance of intervals. It cannot be derived from anything we know.  Needless to say, it is a hypothesis (cannot be proved).

SR is just a 'theory' onto which one can graft the Lorentz transformation as a metric and nothing else. Time Dilation and Length Shrinkage are just the result of chosen laws for dynamics.  That interpretation is not the only one possible. They provide the accumulation point at v=c, that is all.

No physics there.

Cosmology somehow feels at home using it to derive the SR Doppler effect redshift and from there it goes into another non-unique solution to Cosmology (GR) and beyond (Dark Energy and Dark Matter).

So my question is WHY?  Why is not the fact that the legs of Cosmology (explanation of redshift, estimation of receding velocity) are based on a theory that has no evidence to support its validity.

The first possible test on a slightly longer distance happened in the Pioneer spacecraft.  Somehow that didn't help.  Voyager presented the Pioneer anomaly.

For some time, I believed that the anomaly could be totally explained by the curvature of the hypersphere.  It was too constant.  Solarwinds, vacuum matter density fluctuations (a possible explanation) couldn't be that constant.

I either made a mistake in the derivation (I derived the thing many times) or the hypersphere possible contribution to the anomaly was only 50% of the observed one.

Contribution 50% for the deceleration precluded me from saying anything (not that anyone would listen to me..:). Too much uncertainty.  The explanation about anisotropic thermal irradiation (thus anisotropic photon pressure) was as good as anything.

Someone should try to derive the influence of the hypersphere curvature on the deceleration of the Pioneers spacecrafts.  Check my work. If I was wrong by a factor of 2, that will be my Biggest Blunder...:)

For example in HU, the 3D Universe is not flat. Its curvature is 1/4D_Radius, so just by embedding the 4D spacetime inside a hyperspherical surface is enough to make SR fail at longer distances.

That is one thing going against the use of Doppler Shift for relating redshift z with velocity.
