Can some one briefly tell me what is the purpose of doing cyclic voltammetry after the modification of the electrode for microbial electrosynthesis? May I know whether the same setup is used for CV where anode immersed in anolyte and cathode immersed in catholyte and both of them is separated by membrane? If our target reaction is CO2 reduction why many research paper do not mention whether they supply the co2 gas or using medium with bicarbonate ion? Some paper just use 50 mM PBS buffer, what would be the target species here since there is no any form of carbon source in it. Is it because they are focusing on HER reaction?
