Why there is a formation of spikes in the collected nanofibers during the electrospinning process??

I am fabricating a small diameter vascular graft using the technique electrospinning. I am facing a problem of formation of spikes in the collected fiber after a certain thickness, if possible can anyone help me to find the reason for it and provide me with your valuable suggestion to overcome this.

Hi Vinith,

Do you have an SEM image of the spikes? What does it look like? That will help me give specific comments.

But I think controlling humidity is a good idea. In other words, run your recipe at a low humidity level. That will help overcome beads in fibers. Good luck!
