Which output format do you use? The format could be the reason: the default address stores the data in a GDB, which usually offers better performance than shapefiles (processing speed, file size, ...). If you store your data in a file geodatabase, hopefully there should be no difference anymore.

many processes are very sensitive to the location path, e.g. they do not tolerate spaces or non-English characters - then the standard path is safe

All the paths are written in English letters and there is no space in the names of folders.

can you provide a sample path where you get the result and one where you don't get the results?

Create a personal/file GDB and save to that folder. Like @Sebastian mentioned, GDB model has better integrity than ordinary .shp format.

P.S I am assuming that your operations are vector operations.

For example, when I run an "extract by mask" command for a raster, the result raster's pixels do not match the mask raster. But doing the exact command and specifying the default address, makes the pixels match!

if the default location is selected, it is usually a geodatabase, then the resulting raster is in grid format

if you choose your location, and you take tiff as the resulting raster format, it can be exactly as you say

because the tiff raster must be a rectangle, so extract by mask will be ineffective here

but if you choose the resulting format as grid regardless of the location of the result, the raster result should be the same
