Yes, a factored hamiltonian form A dagger A is always Hermitian.

Factored Hamiltonian using A and A^+ need not be Hermitian always . Only in few cases it is Hermitian and most of the cases it is NON-HERMITIAN .

I thought that the dagger removes the pre exiting dagger and daggers

the undaggered A, but also changes the order of factors due to the transpose

property applied to a product, so you end up with the same.
