Hello everyone,

The concept is that in a Microbial fuel cell, when internal resistance is equal to external resistance we get a maximum power output. So, I am trying to enrich electroactive bacteria in MFCs from sediment inoculum. On day 0 when I did the Polarization curve (Power density vs voltage), maximum power output was observed at 5600 ohms. But on day 7 after feeding with carbon source and medium I observe that the maximum power output is on 15000 ohms.

So, I want to know if am I doing my experiments correctly, or in general these happens.

Or

Is my internal resistance so high? What might be the factors for such a cause?
