Heat is dominantly transferred via phonon in SiC while free electrons and phonon both contributes to heat transfer in copper, why SiC has higher thermal conductivity than that of copper? Is that because of less collision or higher phonon velocity in SiC than counterparts in copper?
Dear Zhenfei, in copper electrons collisions can have relevant importance in determining conductivity and other physical properties. Do you have already seen the considerations of Ashcroft-Mermin in their book on this subject? Gianluca

Two recommended explanations were given but I do not understand them.
