so i am facing this problem when i stored the SF solution at 4C temperature for use after one or two days it became a hard gel ...so can anyone please tell me is this convenient to put at room temperature ...Thanks in advance
To dissolve fibroin in aqueous solutions, chaotropic reagents are used that destroy the hydrogen bonds between fibroin chains (e.g., LiBr, LiSCN, CaCl2–ethanol). Most often, dried cocoons are dissolved in a 9 M aqueous solution of LiBr at a temperature of 60 °C. After that, the solution is filtered or centrifuged. The filtered solution or supernatant is continuously dialyzed for several days in distilled water to remove salts and low-molecular impurities. Depending on the conditions, the resulting fibroin solution (usually several weight percent) is stable at a temperature of 4 °C for several weeks. Apparently, you are writing about this solution. If the gel is solid, this is not bad. The main thing is that bacteria do not start "eating" it, like any protein broth.
