As far as my reading of the Agrobacterium literature, there are not much work on this however some limited data from Lamparter group in Karlsruhe, Germany, suggest that Agrobacterium motility is considerably reduced with exposure to light. Darkness promotes induction of many flagellar genes and movement of bacteria. Similarly, darknes was also found to increase bacterial attachment to plant cells and hence leads to increased virulence.
