Coplosapelta and Acranthera (Rubiaceae) are regarded as sister taxa by Rydin etal. 2009 (10.1007/s00606-008-0138-4) and Razafimandimbison & Rydin 2024
(10.1002/tax.13167). Pollen morphological studies showed that Coplosapelta is pororate (Verellen etal. 2004- (10.1007/s10265-003-0128-0)), whereas Acranthera is tricolporate (Rydin et al. 2009). Is it a matter of misinterpretation or pollen attributes are not prime characters or of less wt in identification?
Thank you.
