No of innovations and developments are made by agricultural engineers but it is not reached to the end users. More emphasis required for transferring the developed / improved technology in agricultural engineering.
This is not effective particularly in developing countries where there is a lack of pragmatic agricultural policies, poor infrastructure for continuous agro-industrial research & development and scarcity of public/private funding to support innovation and growth. Effective transfer will require relevant national systems, mechanisms and business environments among transferors, transferees and end-users.
I disagree. Agricultural engineering technology has been transferred more effectively that any other engineering discipline. Ag engineering has made many strides to help feed the world population. Where this appear not to be the case, like on most of the developing world, the other engineering disciplines are not fairing any better. If fact in such countries the most effective and innovative engineering discipline appear to be agricultural.
I am working at KVK and I am seeing the real status of technology transfer in the field of Agricultural Engineering. If you are doing in a good system, then TOT is definitely happened. Hence, I am not agree with your question.
Its good on your part and may be your developed technology reached to the end users. Every where system is good but it is not reaching. If you see the technology developed by Universities and the technology actually adopted is not of that level. Yours being a KVK you are looking full time of extension activities and it will be good. Persons involved in and research are not justified for the partial work of transfer of technology.
There is much on this topic in the classic, oft cited work by Everett C Rogers, Diffusion of innovations, published in the 198060s. It and sequels still very useful today.
The problem is not technology but political and economic as each country has restrictions according to locally, in the case of Mexico has sought progress in other sectors such as industry and services regardless it is not possible for these sectors
develop without the agricultural sector evolve helped by agricultural engineering
perhaps my article will be helpful
