I am trying to perform the correspondence analysis between the set of values of GC3 and ENC, given in the attached Microsoft Excel sheet. The problem is that I have applied trend line (polynomial) on the data by using excel and SPSS and the trend line always appears to be inverted as compared to other similar studies where the polynomial trend line is always in opposite direction as compared to mine. Could anyone please tell me why is it like this with my data and how can I get the trend line with its ends downwards?

So, could you please tell me in general what is to be concluded from this plot in terms of codon usage as it is plot between GC3 (synonymous codons at 3rd position: independent variable) and effective number of codons (ENC; dependent variable)?
