My feruloylated pectin (contain ferulic acid=antioxidant) is soluble in water.
After adding DPPH prepared in methanol, the color of my sample become brown and it forms a gel. I have tried to measure the absorbance of my sample + methanol and it also forms a gel and the absorbance is 0.048.
i have tried to measure the absorbance of my sample (pectin) without taking the gel but the absorbance is higher than the control.

i have tried lower concentration, i can read the absorbance and calculate the % of inhibition but in order to determine the IC50 i have to increase the concentration and when i do more gel is formed and the absorbance become higher than the blank

In fact i have used my sample in a form of powder and it did work out of course the values obtained in ABTS test are different from those in DPPH test by they goes in the same direction.
