I tried modeling urea reactor using Rplug in Aspen Plus software. Since Rplug reactor requires kinetic parameters, I tried checking the literature to source for kinetic data, assuming that urea synthesis is an established industrial reaction. So, can someone share with me the kinetics data of ammonium carbamate formation from ammonia and CO2. Also, ammonium carbamate decomposition to urea.
Also, since these two reactions are equilibrium, isn't it possible to model the reactor by still using Rplug reactor (equilibrium specification in the software, instead of kinetics). When I did so, the urea and ammonium carbamate exiting the adiabatic Rplug reactor were zero.
Did you try searching for Aspen Plus Urea case study? If you have access to Aspen plus, most likely you also have access to aspen plus case studies. Most of the technology licensors use propriety data in their process design. You can also try other simulation software pro-II etc.

Start with very high rate constants (forward and reverse constants matched to obtain equilibrium.
Reduce rate constants until you are no longer equilibrium limited.
Remember it is an equilibrium system forward and reverse rate constants need to be reduced by the same factor to assure equilibrium composition is achieved at high residence times.
