Want to understand why the 331 X-ray diffraction peak of Zn-ferrite nanoparticles is extincted whereas no cations inversion is detected by Neutron diffraction.
In short: it is a matter of noise in high background of the XRD pattern, which unfortunately in most cases is measured via Cu based tube. The tiny 331 peak is burried in the noise of the Fe K-fluorescence background.
