Why is NKG2D the main NK cell activating receptor, and is our research limited for the other ones?

After stimulation to IgG, IFN a/b, IL-15 the activating killing often seems to be NKG2D-mediated. What about these other activating receptors that are specific to NK cells?NKG2D can be expressed by the CD8+ T-cell as well.,
