when dynamic analysis conducted for a larger structure (50*65 m, plan) with foundation modelled as shell and soil spring added, natural time period and mode shape display could be obtained. But to generate table with mass participation ratio, the system shows processing symbol and remains so for long time. Can anyone please tell the reason for the same. Is it related with my PC's memory capacity? Please guide me. I am attaching the text log file generated during analysis.
I have provided springs in all three translational directions, I have modelled foundation also.
Based on the .Log file, you have warnings showing structure instability. I do agree with Florin, the problem is mainly because of the modelling building foundation on elastic supports. You need to check the boundary conditions in your model
I agree with both Ayman and Florin. Your log file shows structure instability. I don't know what structural system you use for the structure, but if you have shear walls or bracing, you might be able to add supports under those (you can restrain the corresponding nodes in X and Y directions. That would probably help.
