I am doing IHC and I did not get any good signal on the positive control tissue. I am doing a few more tests, but was looking over the spec sheet and noticed it does say “binds selectively to BSA-conjugated Alginate and not to unconjugated BSA” – I am wondering if maybe the alginate that is secreted in their tissue is not BSA conjugated so maybe that is why it is not working. Could this be a error?

I think what is meant by the datasheet is that the antibody binds to BSA-alginate (probably used as the immunogen) and not to BSA, emphasizing the fact that the antibody is selective for the alginate. The Ab has been cross-absorbed against BSA OR it is a monoclonal Ab that binds selectively to alginate.
