Although music has long been relegated to a secondary role in education—such as in elementary and secondary schools' physical education, music, and art classes—why is it now being positioned as an indispensable subject within holistic education?
As much as I would like everyone to have a broader view on music so that there would be more people who enjoy music that comprises more than three chords, I don't see that right now, at least not in the western countries. Moreover, music classes are usually those which get cancelled first if there's a lack of teachers.
