I have run Factorial ANOVA to identify main effect and interaction effect between 3 IVs and 1 DV. The output table called "Test of between Subject Effects" shows no value (-) in F ratio column for interaction between 3 IVs. What does that means? Kindly advise.
1. check that your Factorial combination are replicated
2. your software may be set to give onl 2nd order interactions
Mewa Singh Dhanoa thanks for the response. I found out that the df value is zero. Therefore, there is no reading in F ratio column. I am confused. Could you please advise?
In the absence of proper error term only two options
1.if ALL factores are qualitative, use 3rd order interaction error mean square to do F-tests (in your paper/report you must declare this though)
2. if 1 or more factors are Quantitative then you can partition their Main effect into Linear part & the remaining to be pooled to get error term (this is bit difficult; discuss with a local Statistician in your University ...treating one quantitative Factor into a co-Variate may be another way)
***when starting any Experiment, check if replications are sufficient ***
