I'm very beginner in the development of competitive lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for small molecule detection and facing with the the problem of false negative result . the result of experiment always shows visible test line and control line however the tested sample have target analytes. In my project, the test line was immobilized with target molecule conjugated BSA and control line was immobilized with anti IgG antibody. When I applied sample with free target analytes, it showed visble line in both test line and control line( false negative result) Could anyone can explain this problem and how to solve this problem? Thank you so much.

What's your binding method between analyte and BSA?
BSA is for binding on the membrane or visulizing the analyte to be seen by antibody in bigger size?
