The diurnal profile of temperature shows one minimum and one maximum peak while pressure, shows 2 maximum peaks and 2 minimum peaks. What is the exact reason for this? If it is due to tides, how can we explain this phenomenon?
It is the same reason why ocean tides happen twice per day. The moons pulls stronger on what is closer... Therefore you have high tides on the Earth's side facing the moon (water there is pulled more than the Earth itself) and on the opposite side of the Earth (there, the earth is being pulled more than the water).
