I am rarely facing this type of problems in one of my systems. The problem is, the performance of wrf.exe (mpirun -np 4 ./wrf.exe) is working very slowly when compared
normal (almost 6 times). I am using WRF-NMM model. Even when I reinstalled ubuntu 12.04 and installed WRF again, still the problem is same. How can I make my system performance as normal? I need suggestions from you.

What compiler did you use? WRF compiled by GNU compilers is usually more slow (sometimes up to 5-6 times) than if compiled by Intel or PG compilers.

Hi,
we are using gcc compiler and till now i have used gcc compilers from last two years in all systems. while i installed on the system for the first time, its working fine (for 1 sysem). After 3 months time, the performance is poor (almost 6 times). we are using 4 processors and 20 gb ram and we are using dell precision system and Intel xeon processor cpu E5420 and 200gb Harddisk. If still you need more details, please let me know.

Dear I would recommend you to try Intel or PGI compilers. by they way which version of gcc and wrf you are using? similarly, are you using openmpi or mpich? and I also would like to ask does you are using same physical schemes as before or you have changed some schemes? e.g if you use CLM4 land-surface model then It could slow down the processing up to 2 to 4 times.
Intel is free for research and educational purposes so I highly recommend you to try Intel compiler.
I would also recommend you to try with two processors rather than 4. Let us know if you got any improvements
