Why does RNA Polymerases of (-) strand viruses copy viral RNAs only when they are present in the nucleocapsid?

VSV genomic RNA is a template for RNA polymerase only when it is bound to the nucleocapsid protein N.

beacuse replication of a RNA needs a RNA dependent RNA polymerase (RdRP) and this enzyme dosn't exist in any cells so negative sense ssRNA viruses must contain a RdRP in their virions. so in the cycle of these viruses after partially uncoating this polymerase activated and initiate transcription and replication together.
