The area of peak and amount (ppm) of the CH4 should decrease in a week due to microbial activity, is that not right?
But in my case, the CO2 peak area and amount does increases, but why do the CH4 amount and peak area increases as well?

Paul Milham yes. I was actually aiming to study it's reduction. But I don't get why instead of reducing, the amount of CH4 and its peak area increases after a week instead. Would you mind to share your thoughts on that?

I'm guessing that it takes some time for the system to become sufficiently reduced to produce sufficient methane to be measured.
