This question is related to the application of EC in estimating the Ionic strength of a solution. But I have difficulties interpreting the difference between MgCl2 and NaCl curve.
As per the periodic table, Na is in group 1 and Mg is in group 2, Na is more reactive with water than Mg as alkaline metals. Further, atomic radius also affected it.....
Sodium is a monovalent charge, while magnesium is a divalent charge , since sodium chloride is rapidly dissolution into sodium ion and chloride ion. so the EC value is affected .
