Perhaps this question needs more context. What are you asking? Increasing the current increases the magnetic field increases the focal power and decreases the focal length. That is definitional of how a magnetic lens works. Are you asking for an explanation of how the lens works?
Goldstein, J.I., Newbury, D.E., Echlin, P., Joy, D.C., Lyman, C.E., Lifshin, E., Sawyer, L. and Michael, J.R., 2003. The SEM and its modes of operation. In Scanning Electron Microscopy and X-ray Microanalysis (pp. 21-60). Springer, Boston, MA.
Which SEM (make and model) are you using? Is it a double condenser system?
To the best of my knowledge, in single condenser system, as we increase EHT (accelerating voltage), the current also increases. This allows us to increase WD, and thus focal length changes accordingly.
