I am carrying out a project work on yeast being selected as a functional probiotic. I normally thought about this question but couldn't find a justified answer to it.Please help me.
I think anything which is grown in liguid broth is easily analyzed by heat fixation on a slide as in Gram staining compared to wet-mount with lactophenol blue.
But if you notice the difference between the yeast and bacteria cell wall, its completely made up of different nature. How is then possible that you can stain yeast with gram staining technique?
