I would like to hope that no one in the world would build one of the actual generation of fission nuclear plant.
Turkey is also famous for some major earthquakes..
But you have so much sun !! Probably also some nice mountains with steady wind conditions..
Before you build a centralised (star like) electric distribution system , think of the advantage of delocalised source and flexible interconnection.
France can not go green before it makes all its distribution system new. A lot of new cables have to be buried..

In addition, it should be noted that there is a connection between the increasing demands placed on “the rare earth elements” and “the limits” of manufacturing of those sustainable energy solutions, as such wind mills, solar panels, electric cars, etc.
For instance, magnets used in those mills and lithium and many other elements in electric car batteries, motors, and elements used in solar panels might not be supplied in abundance, in the very near future. A new challenge emerges about the sustainability of these "sustainable energy solutions".
Renewable energy is the fastest-growing source of electricity generation within the different energy sources available in the world that can be used for the generation of electricity. Total generation from renewable energy sources increases by 3% annually, and the renewable share of world electricity generation it is expected to grow from 18% in 2007 to 23% in 2035. Almost 80% of the increase is in hydroelectric and wind power. The contribution of wind energy, in particular, has grown swiftly over the past decade from 18 GW of net installed capacity at the end of 2000 to 159 GW at the end of 2009, a trend that continues into the future. Of the 4.5 trillion kWh of new renewable generation added over the projection period, 2.4 trillion kWh or 54%, is attributed to hydroelectric power and 1.2 trillion kWh or 26%) to wind.
Although renewable energy sources have positive environmental and energy security attributes, most renewable technologies other than hydroelectricity are not able to compete economically with fossil fuels outside of a few regions. Solar power, for instance, is currently a “niche” source of renewable energy but can be economical where electricity prices are especially high, where peak load pricing occurs, or where government incentives are available.
Wind and solar are intermittent technologies that can be used only when resources are available. Once built, the cost of operating wind or solar technologies when the resource is available is generally much less than the cost of operating other renewable and conventional energy sources for electricity generation. However, high construction costs can make the total cost to build and operate renewable energy power plants higher than those for conventional power plants. The intermittence of wind and solar can further hinder the economic competitiveness of those resources, as they are not operator-controlled and are not necessarily available when they would be of greatest value to the system. The use of energy storage (such as hydroelectric pumped storage, compressed air storage, and batteries) and a wide geographic dispersal of wind and solar generating facilities could mitigate many of the problems associated with intermittence in the future. The use of other renewable energy sources for the generation of electricity in the coming years will continue to be very small.
According to other Turkish experts (http://www.hindawi.com/journals/jen/2013/794095/ ) the renewable energy policy did not fail. Turkey theoretically has 166 TWh a year of wind potential. However the installed wind power capacity is approximately 14% of total economical wind potential.
Installed wind capacity is expected to grow between 500–1,000 MW per year reaching more than 5 GW by 2015. Turkey hopes to install up to 20 GW by 2023, helping the country to source 30% of its electricity generation from renewable sources by that date. The power obtained from wind will increase and exceed 10,000 MWs by 2030.
More steps need to be taken in a coordinated manner to improve the investment environment for renewable energy in Turkey.
Firstly, regulatory uncertainties and bureaucratic inefficiencies in licensing and granting permits shall be eliminated. Secondly, an investment plan shall be made for the expansion of the power transmission network in a way that will enable the optimal mix of renewable energy power plants to be connected to the grid. More generally, policies that
support the energy sector as a whole would also be beneficial for investors in renewable energy. As such, further
