I am working with Adult Rat cardiac fibroblast and Adult mouse cardiac fibroblast. I use DMEM medium with 10% of FBS for culturing these cells. When I seed the Adult mouse cardiac fibroblast to 35mm culture plate, they remain attached for 24hrs, however detach thereafter. Any suggestions?
No, I haven't. I was actually planning to use laminin coated plates, however wondered if there is any other recommended way of culturing them.
Coating the culture dishes seems a good option. Besides gelatin and laminin, also matrigel could work!
Among those options, gelatin is much more economical and works quite well for fibroblasts. The medium you are using should be sufficient for fibroblast culture.
Given your description of what is happening, am I correct in assuming that the rat cultures remain attached and only the mouse cultures detach after 24 hours?
