Dear Researchers;

I have a few questions on the same topic as follow.

Why do the academics give so much importance to the journals in the Science Citation Index (SCI), the Science Citation Index-Expanded (SCI-Expanded) and the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI)?

Visit http://ip-science.thomsonreuters.com/mjl/ for Journal Lists for Searchable Databases, and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Science_Citation_Index, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_Sciences_Citation_Index

Do you think that the scientific review processes of the journals in these indexes are better than the journals in the other indexes?

Do you think that the publication decisions of the journals in these indexes are more appropriate than the publication decisions of the other indexes?

What are your scientific review experiences as an author in the journals in these indexes?

What are your scientific review experiences as an author in the journals in the other indexes?

I would like to thank you for your answers and contributions in advance.

Best Regards
