Brain primaries donot seem to metastasize like other cancerous mass because the blood brain barrier (BBB) is there.And eventually by the time it starts spreading patients reach the last stage of cancer and hence death occurs before these mass actually get the time to spread.
mousumi... sorry for the late reply. not true in fact in glioma's the sites of tumor growth have compromised BBB. That is how Gadilinium contrast is achieved in GBM patients for MRI....The possible flaw in the avasatin study in GBM
