There is a plethora of publications on lateral flow immunoassays and SERS detection, and most papers hint at point-of-care capabilities of this technology. However, you apparently cannot buy a portable reader device equipped for reading LFA strips. Oxonica once showed a prototype, but they never produced the actual thing. Renishaw only markets ELISA-type SERS assays. Any ideas from the research community as to why this technology is not commercially available? Or did I overlook something?
