Why are there holes in Giemsa Stain of my THP-1 Monocytes ?

Hello,

I have been imaging THP-1 monocytes and staining by Giemsa-Wright stain. I am noticing these holes or vacuoles within my cells. I am wondering if anyone has seen these in their cells and what could be the cause of this?
