Increasing the capacity of the thermal energy storage system beyond 20 hours seems to pose an economic problem, as the cost of the tanks increases for higher capacities as a result of the increased level of thermal insulation of the tank.

Regardless of the economics, for me, there are technical reasons that prevent the development of CSP plants with extremely large storage tanks.
