However, If one considers landing gear, it repeatedly undergoes impact loading when the plane lands on the ground. it may be considered shock fatigue. Here we need to consider the inertia effect and repeated loading also. In this case, which option one can prefer in ANSYS?

Hi Venugopal, Kristaq has already answered but I'm here adding my comment to understand the requirement clearly.

First, what are you expecting from "Fatigue Analysis"?. Isn't it the life?

Fatigue analysis tells us the life of component when it is undergoing repetitive (normal and alternating) load. But in case of landing gear, you need find out response of gear struts separately under impact and then fatigue loading.

The reason is, when landing gear hits the ground first, it's only the impact load that it needs to sustain.

Whereas, one should know for how many such attempts gear can safely resist without undergoing catastrophic failure.

For that, you can obtain the Fmax( Max reaction force) during event of impact and obtain the life of landing gear struts when it's subjected to such amplitude of repetitive (normal and alternating) loads.

Whichever is the critical (impact or fatigue) needs to be addressed. That's how we deal with components subjected to withstand multiloading (Crash and Durability) system.

At each attempt of landing, the normal and alternating loads are applied for very finite number of times as it dies out soon due to damping action and smooth landing surface.

I need to add another question, in case of a BOP Blind Rams for example, I need to simulate the closing of the rams for 200 times for example, this is aside from the normal operation conditions changes. So, what parameter shall I extract from explicit dynamics and use it in the fatigue analysis to study the effect of these closures on the ram.
